About
Hi, I'm Alexandra Hernandez, and I'm a Machine Learning Engineer at InSite Health. I'm also a recent graduate of the University of California, San Diego, with a B.S. in Machine Learning and Computer Sciences!
My interest–and involvement–in the STEM field has always been prevalent. Dating back to my elementary school days, I first started programming in Minecraft by creating mods and several "Command Block" ran games for my friends to play. In high school, I not only took both AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science to help further my programming skills, I also specialized in Computer Science and Biometrics for my International Baccalaureate Diploma. Furthermore, I developed my first game, "Pikachu Drop," and app, "Reminder App," during this time with JavaScript and Java.
I have lots of experience working with research institutions within the university, such as the Qualcomm Institute and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. My projects also cover a variety of areas, such as a data visualization app for Chen Battery Lab, and a project utilizing unsupervised machine learning algorithms to group datapoints together based on their accent similarity.
